Members
Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Primary Care (CPC) is a professional membership association for the following individuals or groups:
Individual practitioners
Individual practitioners working (or have worked) as primary care counsellors/in an NHS setting. Members will be in one of two categories: registered or intermediate (follow the links for the criteria for each type).
All Registered and Intermediate Members commit to their ongoing Professional Development of 30 hours a year.
Students
Students on counselling/psychotherapy/counselling psychology training courses.
Organisations
Organisations involved in counselling, training, mental health, psychotherapy, or the provision of counselling or psychology.
Subscribers
Subscribers who are not in any of the above categories but wish to be kept informed as to developments in primary care counselling.
Supervisor
This category was introduced in 2003 for supervisors of counsellors working in the NHS. This follows our year of inaugural membership in 2002, when the standards for membership were debated long and hard. A list of these criteria can be downloaded, along with a membership form, two appendices. There is also a Supervisor Report and accompanying Code of Ethics for forwarding to your supervisor.
How to join
Application forms for the various categories of membership are now available from the CPC office or they may be downloaded and printed by selecting the relevant form below.
