Counsellors in Primary Care (CPC) has established a register of members working in the NHS, delivering "primary care counselling". Members of CPC may be counsellors, psychotherapists or counselling psychologists. They will have taken different training routes. CPC is the unifying, umbrella professional association, which recognises the validity of these training routes.
A Register is a necessary step for regulation and an essential to meet clinical governance requirements.
Entry on the CPC Register of Members means that the member has met the necessary training standards to qualify. It also means they are practising ethically. We have two categories of membership: Registered and Intermediate. You can find more information on the requirements of each of these on our main membership page.
